The most integral part of being a woman is the creative life-force that flows through you. Women are physical incarnates of the divine feminine Shakti, the primal creation energy that the entire cosmos is made of. It is the heartbeat of the Universe, the pulse of all of life.
Our bodies are built for birthing Life itself. Creation is a woman’s lifeblood.
When you are in flow with your femininity, you naturally become wildly creative. The more you harmonize your life with your feminine being, the more you will find yourself rife with ideas and an unbridled desire to give them shape and form. Your senses come alive, the ideas just keep coming, you feel so FULL, your creative force flows like a powerful stream.
Having creativity be a normal part of your Way of Being is essential for finding fulfilment as a woman. Of course, the ultimate form of sacred creation is that of new life (babies), and if you have made those and you take good care of them, then that is already a much fulfilled life :’) But being able to birth your creative projects consistently can add great enrichment to your days, in unimaginable ways.
The Challenge of feeling creatively Blocked
When you first start exploring your creative potential, you might encounter the challenge of not knowing where or how to start. Or if you have been doing your art for a while, you might feel creatively blocked, or like you have to rely on spontaneous bursts of inspiration that come and go.
Most people wait for it to hit them, someday, sometime, an idea here, a spark there. But one of the game changing things I have learned is that you do not have to wait for inspiration to come to you. After a couple of years of trial & error, I can assure you that it is possible to learn to tap into your creative flow AT WILL. In fact, once you figure out your own unique process, you can become a master at channeling your creativity.
So allow me to help you make sure that your beautiful creations see the light of the day with:
6 Ways to tap into your wild Creative Energy
VI. Allow yourself to disappear.

What I mean is, give yourself permission to go off the radar. Insulate yourself from the noise of the world, and take time away unapologetically. Women used to traditionally do this during the bleeding & shedding phase of their cycles. If you have a family and responsibilities, ask your partner to help out or make use of the pockets of alone time that you find.
Descend into the creative underworld, into the inner forest of creation, and allow yourself plenty of rest there. Let yourself be deeply founded in that place where the roots of your psyche (soul) lie. Get familiar with the sacred lands of your creative soul waters. Every woman has them inside her.

Here are some ways to go about doing this:
- Say no to any people, things or tasks that drain your energy.
- Have a beautifully prepared space in the house where you can relax and feel like yourself.
- Get journaling as you go inward into the depths of your being, freely penning whatever comes up. {Stream of Consciousness}
- Go on a solo trip or vacation if nothing else will do!
V. Indulge your imagination, wildly.

Make sure to deeply engage with that which inspires you.
- Let yourself go to your favorite fantasy lands & otherworldly places. Got a favorite city from a book series? Good. Start spending time there. Especially when you feel called to it.
- Let yourself be whimsical, fairy-like or mermaid-like or whatever pleases you. Let yourself frolic about and do forest nymphy things, unabashedly. Fae rituals in the backyard, communing with the nature spirits 🌺
- Dive into magical lands, new and old. Let yourself be a kid again. Fairy tales, sci-fi novels, tv shows and movies and all kinds of stories that bring you alive! Go back to Narnia. Or Hogwarts. Or the ephemeral world of Ghibli movies (remember Spirited Away?).
- Or a beautiful world of your own making. Follow the magic, like will-o’-wisps 🌌 leading you to the well of your creative waters at the center of the ancient soul forest.
These days, I like to spend my time in the city of Velaris, quietly writing drafts for my posts while sipping tea ^~^
*I highly recommend keeping a Creative Ideas Notebook, or multiple ones for different artistic endeavors. Make it a point to capture the thought the moment it hits you, and soon enough more will follow. In some more time yet, you will find yourself tapped into your eternal creative stream.
I have a small poetry book just for writing down pretty poetic words I come across, or a web of intricate lines flowing through me, all of which I later use to form full poems. Start scribbling and doodling and pen-on-paper scratch-scratch-scratching. Just get the flow going, no editing whatsoever.
IV. Be okay with periods of quiet and rest.

Creation happens in cycles, just like your body gracefully goes through its own cycle every month. There are times to be enlivened with passion & wildly creating like the happiest mad woman alive, and there are times of quiet and silence and rest. The latter is a normal phase of the creative cycle. In these seemingly uneventful periods, things are not as they seem. There is much going on below the surface.
If you listen carefully, you will hear the thrum of your life-force, ever-present and quietly flowing like a river, underneath the surface. Let yourself go into deep rest. This is incubation time.
Soon you will find that this empty space in between periods of activity is actually really fertile with new seeds, getting ready to mature and sprout and ripen.
In the space in between seasons of creation, are the most fertile grounds of your psyche. Give up on scrambling about to constantly be in production-mode. Let yourself rest in the depths of your womb. Sit back relaxed in full trust & knowing of the natural rhythms of your creative waters, no hurry whatsoever.
For spring time always comes around again.
III. Get living.

Listen to the music that moves you, look at beautiful imagery that stokes the inner fires, make love with your partner (or to yourself), often. Direct your entire life-force towards things and people that bring you the deepest kind of fulfilment. Let the juiciness flow. Indulge in pleasure. Let your senses come alive! Stand in rain, feeling fully everything it makes you feel. Let yourself be awe-inspired by the beauty of lady moon again.
Be playful! With your kids, your man, your friends, by yourself. Do simple things that make you happy. Follow the impulse – play in a creek, swing from a tree, paint the house, pull out the weeds, plant the seedlings, tend to your home, make things clean and pretty and new, throw things out, switch furniture around, bring in fresh flowers. Do WHATEVER makes your soul happy.
And let me say this to you right now, no matter what you have been telling yourself, you can find the time for this. The time and space is right here, untapped. I get it, you might have a job, beautiful babies and critters to take care of, a relationship to water and nurture.
But the space for all the soulful callings is to be found not DESPITE these things, but amidst them. The more you start feeling into those nooks and crannies and soft openings for wildish things, the more new spaces and time slots will open. Try it.
II. Spend time in nature.

This can do wonders for your creative flow. But even more than that, it will harmonize your entire being – mind, body, and soul. It restores your natural sense of well-being. You cannot create in survival mode, and spending time around trees & birds & free flowing water bodies is the ultimate way to calm down the nervous system.
Listening to bird-song (even if on youtube) can be very very relaxing because for thousands of years, for our hunter-gatherer ancestors, bird-song meant that no predators are around. It signals to the brain that you are safe.
I love to put on the sounds of forest rain and flowing streams in the morning. But I do recommend getting some real time outdoors as often as possible. Let the wild woman come to life. Connect to the ancestors. Talk to the fae. This is forest nymph time.
(Oh, and make sure to get plenty of sunshine first thing in the morning! ☀️)
I. Start creating.

Do the deed. Start writing. Or drawing, dancing, knitting, building, whatever it is that your soul’s been crying out for. Get creating!
All of this time spent prepping and getting in the mood for creation is wonderful, but after a point, the only thing that will really save you is to just start doing it! Do the thing. Write the first draft. Pen the poems. Start an Instagram page. Put your thoughts out there. Go to the dance class. Film the video. Sketch the dress. Sew the hems.
It will be messy at first. Embrace the messy! Allow yourself to be the writer that you are RIGHT NOW. Be the artist you are right now. Don’t wait for some vision of perfection. Be the creator that you are right now.
I can tell you from experience, the ego self might use all the suggestions I’ve given so far to procrastinate on actual creating. Because it is scared. It feels not ready to see what will happen once you start creating wildly and let yourself be free. Not ready to experience how you may transform, all the things you might leave behind that have long since stopped serving you. Not ready to see you step into your full self, drenched in your womanly power, your life-force flowing through you FREELY & UNBOUND. And that’s okay.
The fear is understandable. But it is not enough reason to keep your creative magic buried. Feed the ego soothing words, and do the thing anyway. Don’t fall for perfectionism, it is only the long-ago-learned feeling of not-enough-ness in disguise. There are people out there RIGHT NOW, waiting, dying, HOPING to receive what only you can offer. They are starving for EXACTLY your magic, exactly as it is in this moment. Don’t hold back, don’t hide it no more. Let your light show.
